Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has extended financial assistance of ₹5 lakh to Syed Adil Hussain Shah’s family, who lost his life while attempting to save tourists during the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.
Shiv Sena workers and the Border Authorities, met the family of the deceased and handed over the compensation. Local MLA Syed Rafiq Shah was also present during the visit. During the conversation, Syed’s brother recounted the events and praised his sibling’s courage in confronting the terrorists. Mr. Shinde interacted with Syed’s family via video-conferencing, offering condolences and reassurance.
Syed Adil earned a living by offering horse rides to tourists in Pahalgam. According to reports, when terrorists opened fire, he attempted to protect a tourist riding with him by trying to snatch a terrorist’s weapon, that is when he fatally shot dead.
In the aftermath of the attack, several tourists from Maharashtra were stranded in the region. Maharahstra Government arranged several evacuation flights to bring back stranded tourist from Maharastra in Jammu & Kashmir.
