A man and his wife died after their two-wheeler, fell from a bridge that was under construction near Dharapuram in Tiruppur district on Saturday (May 3, 2025). Their 12-year old daughter, who sustained serious injuries in the accident, was being treated in a private hospital.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Sunday (May 4, 2025) condoled their deaths and announced a solatium of ₹3 lakh to the families of each of the deceased from the Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund. In a statement, Mr. Stalin said he has instructed officials to ensure treatment to the 12-year-old girl who sustained serious injuries. He also announced a financial assistance of ₹1 lakh to the injured.
The deceased were identified as K. Nagaraj (44) and Ananthi (38).
