Three students of Shivamogga and one student in Hassan have scored a perfect 625 in the SSLC examinations. They recalled the encouragement and support they received from their parents and school teachers on the day.

Sahishnu N., a student of Sri Adichunchanagiri Composite High School in Shivamogga, was travelling with his parents when the results were declared. One of his teachers contacted him over the phone and informed him of his score. “I was travelling from Udupi to Shivamogga when I got my results. I am happy,” he said.

On his preparations for the annual examinations, Sahishnu said he did not take stress and studied from the beginning of the year. The teachers and his parents, who are also high school teachers, guided him whenever required.

Asked about his future plans, Sahishnu said he wishes to study engineering in an IIT after PU, and his dream is to teach in an IIT. Sahishnu’s father, A.K. Nagaraj, and mother, Prathima, are teachers in government high schools. While Nagaraj teaches Kannada language, Prathima teaches mathematics to students.

Nitya M. Kulkarni, a student of Sri Ramakrishna High School at Gopala Nagar in Shivamogga, gave the credit for her score to her teachers and parents. “I scored very well in class tests, and that gave my teachers some hints on how to guide me to score well. They gave me study material and stood by me whenever I required their assistance in understanding concepts. Similarly, I had the blessings and support of my parents at home. My elder sibling who is pursuing engineering, also had stood 10th topper in SSLC,” she said.

Nitya Kulkarni wants to study MBBS and become a doctor. Her father, Muralidhar Rao Kulkarni, is an administrator in a private hospital in Shivamogga, and her mother, Kalpana M. Kulkarni, is a homemaker.

Namana K. of Priyadarshini High School in Shivamogga was on a trip to Gujarat when the results were announced. Her parents, Krishnamurthy H., Deputy Tahsildar at Tarikere, and mother Padmini, a homemaker, were jubilant after learning about the results. “She studied very well with the guidance of her teachers in the school. We are all happy for her achievement. She wants to study medicine,” her father Krishnamurthy said.

The teachers completed the syllabus well in advance and conducted three preparatory exams. “As I wrote preparatory exams well, I was confident of securing cent per cent results. I am happy that my wish has come true,” he said.
