Top gainers and losers today: In a choppy session after a muted opening and then rangebound trade throughout the day, Nifty50 ended with a drag of 0.33 per cent or 81.55 points at 24,379.6. Sectorally, only the auto index posted mild gains, while all other sectoral gauges faced selling pressure, with PSU Banks and Realty dragging the most. Meanwhile, broader markets witnessed heightened selling- as both Midcap and Smallcap indices declined over 2 per cent, underperforming the Benchmark Index.

Bank of Baroda: After a miss on the net interest income during the March quarter, shares of the state-run lender ended with a cut of over 10 per cent at Rs 223.65.
Union Bank of India: Shares of the PSU Bank ended sharply lower by over 6 per cent at Rs 118.35 as the bank is facing scrutiny for purchasing around two lakh copies of India@100: Envisioning Tomorrow’s Economic Powerhouse.
Mahindra and Mahindra: Shares of the auto major ended 1.6 per cent higher at Rs 3,069.5 as the company posted a very good set of earnings for the March quarter.
CG Power: Shares of the Murugappa group company ended 6 per cent lower at Rs 597.2 even as the company’s standalone net profit jumped 14.50 per cent to Rs 275.49 crore on 23.03 per cent rise in revenue from operations to Rs 2,563.40 crore in Q4 FY25 over Q4 FY24.
