Traffic Disruption Alert: Delhi Police issues 9-day advisory for North Delhi commuters

The Delhi Traffic Police has issued a nine-day traffic advisory for North Delhi, cautioning commuters about disruptions on Kathia Baba Marg due to ongoing repair work. The restrictions will remain in effect till May 25, as the Public Works Department (PWD) undertakes road improvement activities between SDM/Swaroop Nagar (near the NH-44 drain) and Vijay Chowk in the Burari area.

Vehicular movement will be restricted on this stretch during the repair period. To manage traffic and reduce inconvenience, the police have suggested alternative routes for motorists.

Affected route:

• Kathia Baba Marg: From SDM/Swaroop Nagar (Nala, NH-44) to Vijay Chowk (Burari side)

Suggested alternate routes:

• From SDM/Swaroop Nagar (Nala): Use CC Road towards Bhalaswa Landfill (Kuda-Khatta), continue to Jhanda Chowk, and proceed to Burari Chowk.
• Alternate Path: Travel via Jhanda Chowk, then Gurjar Chowk, and head to Vijay Chowk to reach Burari.
• From Vijay Chowk: Take Gurudwara Road, proceed to Gurjar Chowk, Jhanda Chowk, and continue to Bhalaswa Landfill (Kuda-Khatta) before reaching Nala.

Travel advisory:

• Avoid the affected stretch of Kathia Baba Marg.
• Use the recommended alternate routes.
• Follow instructions from traffic police and marshals deployed at diversion points.
