A court on Thursday sentenced two persons to life imprisonment for killing their rival. The convicted persons, Madiga Nagesh of Kotrai village and Harijan Nayakanti Balamaddi of Kummakonda village, hail from Dhone mandal in Nandyal district.

The duo had a longstanding rivalry with Boya Gudimiraralla Koulutla of S. Gundala village in Dhone. On May 15, 2016, the two brutally attacked Koulutla near the local railway station with a boulder, leading to his instant death. The accused later threw the dead body into a drain.

Following a complaint by the victim’s son Kantarao, the Dhone Town police took up investigation. The police produced the evidences before the court, leading to the conviction. Superintendent of Police (SP) Adhiraj Singh Rana monitored the case throughout the trial.
