The Ultimate Kronos Group (UKG), a workforce management solutions provider, is ramping up its expansion plans. The company has projected to add over 250 employees by the year’s end to its new Pune Centre of Excellence (CoE).

Suresh Vittal, Chief Product Officer, UKG, said, “We have been in India for almost three decades and have 3000 employees in the country today. Typically, we add about 1000 people every year and will continue to for the next few years. We will probably scale the Pune office to 250 plus by the end of this year. This may grow north of 500 employees in Pune. The Pune CoE is focused on the platform, AI, and customer experience domains.”

The company, which has been present in India since 2007, also has offices in Noida, Bengaluru, and Mumbai. The company’s centres house employees across product, technology, engineering, AI labs, and customer experience functions. Vittal also noted that India is home to over a million users of its products and hosts UKG’s largest development center worldwide. India also contributes more than 50 per cent to the R&D globally

“From a workforce management standpoint, India has a large footprint given how manufacturing has been scaling up. It’s probably in our top ten markets globally from a workforce management opportunity standpoint,” he said, adding, “India is a big driver of innovation for us. We have deep platform engineering skills, product and technical development, and entire domains for our global customers in India. We also have services, implementation, integration teams, and G&A functions here.”

The company addresses verticals like retail, manufacturing, service & delivery, and healthcare, which account for almost 70 per cent of the world’s GDP.
