While it is easier for political analysts, experts, journalists to write detailed articles in the Editorial pages every week, it is a difficult task for an active political leader. But Health Minister Y. Satya Kumar Yadav has proven otherwise, says Union Minister for Mines G. Kishan Reddy.
He was speaking as chief guest at a programme organised in Vijayawada on Sunday to unveil a book, ‘Satya Column-2’, containing articles written by Mr. Satya Kumar for a Telugu daily.
The book had a compilation of 89 articles the Minister wrote every Tuesday for the daily. Published by EMESCO, it was priced at ₹200. It would be available on Amazon from April 28.
Appreciating his commitment to writing, Mr. Kishan Reddy said, “From 2019 till recently, Mr. Satya Kumar has written for Andhra Jyothy for six years, despite being an active politician. To write about any subject in depth, one needs to do a lot of research, have vast knowledge and experience.”
‘Pak. will pay a heavy price’
Mr. Kishan Reddy later said the country, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, would give a befitting response to Pakistan. “The lives of the innocents lost in the Pahalgam terrorist attack will not be forgotten. Pakistan will pay a heavy price,” the Union Minister said.
Minister for Civil Supplies Nadendla Manohar and TDP State president and Gajuwaka MLA Palla Srinivasa Rao also commended Mr. Satya Kumar’s resolve to write.
Recalling his recent visit to The Hindu office in Vijayawada when he came across editorials from the past, Mr. Manohar mentioned that it was difficult writing for the Editorial, the content and quality of standards of which have to be top notch.
“Mr. Satya Kumar Yadav has brought to light many aspects that the public is not aware of, or has forgotten,” Mr. Manohar said.
Before the beginning of the programme, the Ministers observed two-minute silence for the Pahalgam terror victims.
