Up over 13% in 3 months; this bluechip infra stock gains focus today: Here’s why


L&T shares in Monday’s session (June 9,2025) traded with mild gains of as much as 0.71 per cent or Rs 25.9 at Rs 3,680 per share. The stock’s day high and low prices are Rs 3,709 and Rs 3,654.4 per share. 

As per the company’s filing with the exchanges, the infra major bluechip company’s heavy civil infrastructure (HCI) business vertical has secured a significant order from JSW Energy for the execution of Bhavali Pumped Storage Project (PSP) in the state of Maharashtra. The project designed to have a total installed capacity of 1500 MW comprises various small units.

The scope of work encompasses complete execution of all civil works related to the project, including construction of approach roads, upper and lower reservoirs, water conductor system, pressure tunnels, and the underground powerhouse unit, added the company’s release.

The release noted that the order is a testament of the company’s capabilties in delivering complex hydroelectric infrastructure as well as reinforces its position as a key enabler in India’s quest for renewable energy.

Pumped storage projects like the Bhavali PSP are pivotal to grid stability, particularly in the context of growing integration of variable renewable energy sources. 

L&T’s Q4FY25 results

In Q4 March 2025, the company’s consolidated revenue was at Rs 74,392 crore, an on-year growth of 11 per cent. 

The order inflow for the quarter ended 31 March 2025 stood at Rs 89,613 crore, registering a strong growth of 24 per cent y-o-y. International orders at Rs 62,739 crore during the quarter constituted 70 per cent of the total.

Order book at the company on a consolidated basis as of the March quarter was at Rs 579,137 crore,  a growth of 22 per cent over March 2024, with the share of international orders at a healthy 46%.

L&T’s dividend 

The board recommended a final dividend of Rs 34 per equity share, for the approval of shareholders.

L&T’s share price performance

In the last one year, shares of L&T have underperformed with a return of just over 4 per cent as against Nifty’s gain of over 7 per cent during the period. However, in a 3-year period, the stock has gained 131 per cent.
