Chief Minister Rekha Gupta presented her first Delhi budget last month. The focus areas were infrastructure, education, electricity, water, and other sectors. This year’s budget has been increased by 31.5 per cent to Rs 1 lakh crore from the previous budget.
The CM aims to present Delhi as a world-class model. To strengthen the education model of Delhi, Gupta has kept Rs 886 crore for education and Rs 100 crore for making smart classes. The government will also open ‘Bhasha Labs’ in 100 government schools in the name of former President of India APJ Abdul Kalam. In these labs, different languages will be taught by using AI techniques. The Delhi government has kept Rs 21 crore for this scheme. 7,000 classes will be computerised. There will be CM Shree Schools like we have PM Shree Schools.
In Narela, the government is developing an education hub in a 160-acre area. For that, Rs 500 crore fund has been kept aside.
In a Zee Education Conclave today, CM Gupta talked about the education system in Delhi, her vision for the healthcare system in the capital, and discussed the challenges she is facing.
“There has been a deadlock for many years, we have to start from zero. As we have a mismanaged system, and seeing Delhiites’ expectations, we need to work many times faster. We are trying to do our 100 per cent,” said Gupta.
AAP government
Talking about the previous AAP government in Delhi, due to the work style of Kejriwal government, Delhi has suffered damage. Calling it AAPda government, she said, they did not understand the people’s requirements, and rather than planning or spending on infrastructure, they focused on publicity. They announced schemes but did not implement them.
When asked about challenging Kejriwal’s work, she said, I am not here to challenge anyone. I am just fulfilling my responsibility as a CM.
She further added that Sheila Dikshit government was 10x better than AAPda government. But my concern was that she had spent so much time like more than 15 years, she could do better.
What do you want to make Delhi – Paris or London?
“Delhi has its own pride and history. It has its own place, I want to make Delhi as Delhi only,” said Gupta. I want to give their rights to the Delhi people, she added.
Pahalgam attack
Talking about the recent Pattack terrorist attack, Gupta said, We are continuously working on the protection of people. If something happens in Delhi today, within seconds, we understand the situation and take action on that.
The police and administration are working together to make Delhi better.
