A website on the heritage sites of Fort Kochi and Mattancherry, mapped using a GIS-based programme as part of the Greater Cochin Development Authority (GCDA) initiative, was launched here on Friday (May 2, 2025).
The site can be accessed at www.gcdaheritagesitemapping.in. As many as 200 locations of heritage value have been mapped. The database, the organisers claimed, would help conserve the sites and showcase their heritage value to visitors.
Tourism Minister P.A. Mohamed Riyas launched the website, while Industries Minister P. Rajeeve was the chief guest. GCDA Chairperson K. Chandran Pillai, Mayor M. Anilkumar, MLA T.J. Vinod, Bony Thomas, A.B. Sabu, K.J. Sohan, and O. Sreekanth, Town Planning Officer, GCDA, were among those who attended.
