Wild elephants trample farmer to death in Tirupati district


A group of elephants trampled a farmer to death in Chittecherla panchayat near Kothapalli area of Tirupati district on Friday (April 25) night, adding to the fatalities in the continuing man-animal conflict in the region.

The police identified the deceased as 65-year-old Siddayya of Dasarigudem village in Chinnagottigallu mandal of the district. Three months ago, Naravaripalle sub-sarpanch Rakesh was also killed by wild elephants in Chandragiri mandal in the district.
