A YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) activist was found murdered on the outskirts of Siddavaram village under Halaharvi police limits late on Friday evening.

The deceased, identified as K. Pedda Venkateswarlu (55), was a native of Amrutapuram village in Halaharvi mandal. Venkateswarlu left home on Friday morning, informing his family that he would be going to agriculture fields. He did not return.

Halaharvi police sub-inspector G. Chandra said Venkateswarlu’s body was found between Amrutapuram and Siddavaram villages by the locals. “Unidentified assailants hacked Venkateswarlu to death. The reasons for the murder is yet to be ascertained,” he said.

Venkateswarlu was involved in the finance business and differences in the business might be the reason for the murder. He was not having any political differences.
